Rehabilitation for women after mastectomy

We invite you to make use of rehabilitation programme for women after mastectomy provided by No. 22 Military Rehabilitation Spa Hospital (22 Wojskowy Szpital Uzdrowiskowo-Rehabilitacyjny) that is cooperating with us, only 80 meteres away from the Center.
 
You can complete all formalities in our Center. You will spend your free time between rehabilitation procedures in comfortable conditions of our guest house. We will also ensure an adequate diet therapy for you ( a recommended diet strengthening the immune system).

Rehabilitation for women after mastectomy
programme

1. A profil of patients

• Patients after breast cancer surgery (also after radiotherapy and - chemotherapy)
• Patients after after breast reconstruction surgery and preparation for surgey and preparation for reconstruction surgery
• Patients after non-surgical treatment of breast cancer.

2. The aims of rehabilitation

• Increase in the range of movement in shoulder girdle joints and increase of muscle strength of the upper limb at a surgical site
• Prevention and reduction of lymphatic oedema
• Correction of body posture occurring after breasts amputation
• Influencing the patient's psyche: adaptation to changed life conditions.

3. Methods

• Gymnastic exercises in a group of Amazone women in a gymnastic room (or individually)
• Gymnastic exercises in a group of Amazone women in the swimming pool
• Anti-swelling and spinal massages (hand, vibration, pneumatic)
• Hydrotherapy: Pearl bath, covering shower, viral massages, hydro-air and underwater massage therapy
• Group psychotherapy, (or individual) directed towards:
• reduction of anxiety, anger and depression
• acceptance of own body
• learning assertive behaviours
• realization of own needs
• strenthening of immunological powers
• learning techniques that help to cope with emotions and stress
• Health education among others about the principles of nutrition in oncology, breast self-examination, learning exercises at home, lecture on the breast reconsruction surgery.
  

Package price- 55,00 zl/per day
the minimum treatment time : 10 treatment days

The price includes:

1. Treatment-rehabilitation procedures (from Monday to Saturday, except holidays) according to the medical order:

• Curative gymnastics in a swimming pool or team gymnastics
• Manual lymphatic massage or partial manual dry massage or vibration massage
• Perl bath or covering shower
• Group psychotherapy.

The proposal of procedures presented above may change according to the doctor's order

2. Ambulatory Medical Care *

3. Laboratory tests - performed once

• full blood count
• Iron
• blood platelets
• Urinalysis - general examination.

4. Diagnostic Examination according to the doctor's order:

• EKG with a description.
